The phrase "beyond the pale", meaning to go beyond the limits of law or decency, was in use by the mid-17th century, and originally refers to the Pale in Ireland, a region in a radius of twenty miles (32 km) around

But you were a happy and obedient citizen I'm sure.
Fantastic work on your blog. I like the graphic yet soft feel to your work...
Lovely illustration and I love that you based it on a less well known definition of pale.
You are so lucky to live in dublin!
I went there in 2001 for the first time to see where my maternal grandmother was from. I miss dublin, i miss ireland... i keep such wonderful memories of the people there. All your work is very inspiring, congratulations!
Hi there! Great blog. I'm a Dubliner & have just moved home having been away for a couple of years . Don't think I'll venture beyond the pale again! as then it would be where I'd leave my heart. Slan .
